This is my design for the 2012 Vodacom Durban July

Inspired by the purple orchid. Symbolizes the fragility of our environment and how it needs taking care of, therefore tying in with the 'It's a Material World' theme for the VDJ.

Will add professional pictures soon.

Editor in Chief Material?

Hey guys,
So a couple weeks ago we had a guest speaker come to our college. Laurie Holmes of the Holmes Brothers clothing brand came to tell us about himself as well as advise the fashion design students who wanted to maybe one day build their own label.

I had the awesome chance to write a review article on his visit which was posted on to my college's blog.
Here's the link if you're interested.

What do you think? Am I Editor in Chief material?

 Enjoy!

Vodacom Durban July Inspirations

This year it is compulsory for me as a 2nd year student to enter the Vodacom Durban July Young Designer competition. I'm excited about it, but I know It's going to be a challenge because of all the other talented young designers out there, so I'm trying to push myself. The theme for the VDJ this year is to- in short-design something that reflects nature and sustainability. Below are some pictures I've found that I'm finding quite inspirational in terms of silhouette, creativity and Current trendiness.
Wish me luck=)
